At IES we operate a small computer network which we tend to manage ourselves on a day-to-day basis. However, there are occasions when we need to call in IT support as a ‘one-off’ to reconfigure how the network operates, or to supply and install additional equipment.

We recently purchased a new PC which was installed and configured by Sapling Business Systems. Several months later the computer unexpectedly failed to start-up one morning. The PC was used for storing technical drawings which meant that we were unable to access the drawings. Although we back-up all of our data (so that we did have a ‘disaster recovery’ option), we still needed to resolve the problem with the PC which refused to ‘boot-up’. Fortunately, the PC was still within warranty.

At 10.00am in the morning we contacted Sapling Business Systems to alert them that the PC had failed whilst under warranty. Within 2 hours a technician was onsite. It took 30 minutes to diagnose the problem as a defective motherboard. The board was then immediately replaced under the terms of the manufacturers warranty, and by 2.00pm ‘normal service’ was resumed in the office.

We were very impressed with this after sales support – because with the best will in the world things can unexpectedly go wrong – what’s important is that someone’s there to sort it. Sapling Business Systems took ownership of the problem – and were committed to resolving it as quickly as possible – and that’s exactly what they did.
